GroupM Ranks #1 in Net New Business in Asia Pacific and Latin America: COMvergence Report

GroupM was ranked at the top of the 2021 New Business Report published by COMvergence, an independent and international research firm measuring the performance of global advertising and media agencies.

The study, which ranks GroupM first in net new business in Asia Pacific and Latin America, reports $11.5 billion in total earnings and retentions by GroupM agencies globally in 2021.

GroupM’s wins and retentions in 2021 were the highest in the industry as a whole and nearly doubled the total number of wins and retentions for 2020. Among agency networks, Mindshare, Wavemaker and MediaCom respectively dominate the top three rankings in Asia-Pacific, according to the report.

Of GroupM’s top three markets, two were in Asia Pacific – China with $2.1 billion growth and India with $1.2 billion – with the group finishing first by a wide margin in one of the fastest growing regions in the world. Additionally, the United States saw growth of $2.3 billion last year, a 37% increase over 2020 totals.
